A REVIEW ON ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

Additive manufacturing also called free form fabrication is not yet in use by most manufacturing industries in Nigeria. A study into the awareness of additive manufacturing technique in south western Nigeria shows that 60% respondent have not heard of the technology not to talk of using the technique in production process. This review focus on definitions of each category of the additive manufacturing techniques. The study further explain laser technology as a form of additive manufacturing technique Also review on parameter variation in laser technology manufacturing for the benefit of application in manufacturing process was done. The study concludes on possible research gaps. This review can be used as educative awareness in seminars.
